The school summer holidays are upon us and we see varying numbers of people at club each week. It’s also an opportunity to think about September as a great month for new beginnings and usually some of the best of summer weather.
Just Run Frenchay will launch its next 5-10km course on Monday 9th September at the Dings Rugby Ground at 7pm. This 6-week course led by an experienced run leader builds each week. By the time participants complete the programme they will have the confidence to participate in a 10km organized run if that is their motivation. This course is available to new joiners as well as being a logical next step for our couch to 5km graduates or those that want a new challenge at running club. It’s great to see people who had never run before or didn’t enjoy their running experience earlier in their lives flourish and go beyond their perceived limits. Oh, and did we mention there’s a medal at the end?
We’re also holding a self-defence session led by a local specialist on Saturday 5th October, a session specifically designed for equipping attendees with awareness and some practical skills for staying safe. We have held a few of these sessions in the past 18 months and we’d like to offer the opportunity to ladies within our local community to join us.
