After retiring I gradually became less active and became very breathless. My daughter encouraged me to join the Just Jog Couch to 5K course. I was very apprehensive as I had not done any running since I left school, she said it would be a gradual start so I decided to give it a try. I found everyone really friendly and encouraging, by the time I came to the end of the course I was enjoying running and the social side of it. I then joined the 2 mile group, having friendly people to run with and the encouragement from the run leaders makes it easier to keep going. If I was doing this on my own it would be too easy to stop and not run so far.
I have really enjoyed running and would encourage anyone else considering running to give it a go. If I can do it at my age anyone can!
